CoffeeHead

CoffeeHead
8 Railway Parade
camberwell 3124

CoffeeHead is quite the coffee Mecca. Not only can you choose from any of six coffee roasts on offer when ordering your espresso you can then peruse the take home bags from anyone who's anyone in coffee in Melbourne (and beyond) from Supreme, to Gridlock to Proud Mary and many more.
There is plenty of seating within this bright and spacious cafe housed in an ex-warehouse moments from Camberwell train station.

Prospect Espresso

Prospect Espresso
2a Prospect Hill Rd
Camberwell
Melbourne 3124

Camberwell is pretty buzzy, high density, affluent... and yet there are not that many inspiring cafes in the area. (Or am I wrong??!)
This is one of the reasons that Matt and Mitch decided upon this suburb to establish a cafe. Off the main drag this smallish cafe is cosy, friendly and unique in design. The space (designed by newbie architects Alix Smith and Tim Brooks) includes a feature wall of bespoke, timber tiles fashioned from reclaimed off-cuts.

Hungry Birds

hungry birds
242 victoria st
brunswick
melbourne

This cafe is, essentially, a hole in a wall and a courtyard. But of course it is so much more than this. The friendly Kiwi owners will serve up a fine cup of Supreme and make you feel right at home as you loiter down this op-shop-kitshe laneway. Whilst you visit see what is showing at the Kreisler Gallery indoors (Currently an impressive photographic exhibition shot in Antarctica by David Burrows)

Zaatar

Zaatar
365 Sydney Rd
Coburg
Melbourne 3058

Spacious and family friendly Zaatar dishes up (apart from modern Middle Eastern Food) a damn fine cup of Gridlock coffee. I love the huge photographic mural of ancient, colourful doorways and the clean modern lines interspersed with hints of the traditional (like the mosaic clad communal table and the exterior stencilling)
