It has been ages since I dropped in on First Pour at the Veneziano roastery. It has had a significant make-over since my last visit. This cafe serves excellent coffee local workers and acts as a rather lovely staff room for Veneziano's staff during their breaks.  Several espresso options are available and a selection of coffee equipment is displayed and for sale.

The Merchants Guild

The team behind Prana Chai (hospitality veterans) have located their chai production space down the back of their recent venture The Merchants Guild.  By day this is a buzzy suburban cafe (barely a seat free on my visit) but by night the space is transformed into a chai production workshop with the rear communal table becoming a work bench. There is a befittingly industrial feel to the fit-out in this friendly, competent local.
