patricia

Patricia
Little William Street (Cnr Little Bourke)
Melbourne 3000

Standing room only, as it says on the threshold... This place is about coffee. Black, white or filter. In or out. Simple. Plenty of worker-bees opt for out, but those who stay are treated to minimalist (almost quaker) interiors with sweet touches like potted succulents, earthenware sugar bowls and a handsome wood panelled counter. Understated interiors, friendly service and great coffee. Now for the pictures...

This is a cute spot away from the maddening crowds that takes its coffee seriously. It is all they serve so they must take it pretty seriously. Out back is a beer garden, mostly used in the evening when the venue evolves into a bar... - food is served of an evening. I was pretty 'coffeed-out' on my visit but did sample a delicious El Salvador filter coffee by grower Ernesto Menendez before I left...

There it is, that yummy little taster of El Salvador...

The outdoor space - opens to a dingy back laneway...

Another fab laneway destination. This is a simple CBD affair with a selection of sandwiches and baguettes and a few sweet treats. I very much enjoyed my roast veggie baguette today - will return to sample coffee and perhaps add a few interior shots - it was too busy today - I didn't want to bother the munching city workers by taking shots of the cute and compact interior...

Ceres Cafe

Finally made it to CERES community environment park. What a great day for it - perfect weather for April. My girls loved it: the plant nursery, the wild and rambling pathways, the open air cafe and hand made play space.

The distinctive mosaic-clad sculptural entrance way to CERES.

Little ones checking out the plant nursery.

Kids play space.

Coffee Supreme - not a latte art kind of venue, but a good brew!

What is going on with the bikes?
